Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox

Ron: Hey everybody. Ron here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Konig's premium self-tensioning tire chains on our 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. So here's what our tire chains are going to look like once we have them our Equinox. Now one of my favorite things about these tire chains is the fact that we're going to be able to put them on without having to lay on the ground and get behind the tire because a lot of times we're going to have to drape them over, lay down on the ground and make our connection points but with these, it's going to be a lot simpler and we're not going to have to be in the snow. The links on our chains are going to be D shaped, so they're going to give us excellent traction in snow and ice and it's also going to have these icebreakers here which is going to help break up that ice that's on the road and give us better traction. Now the chain part of our tire chains have been made out of a manganese nickel alloy, which means they're going to be able to hold up to all that moisture from the snow and melting ice and even the road salt, and be really corrosion resistant, so our chains are going to last us a really long time. Our tire chains are going to have a self-tensioning self-centering device built in. That way, when we're driving, we don't have to worry about the chains coming loose or getting those rubber tire adjusters that we've seen with some other style chains. The really nice thing is they're going to use these metal bars here. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on this 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to show you part number PW1046. This is the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains. For reference, we're working with a tire size of 235 by 55 by 18. This is what the tire chains look like when they're installed on the vehicle. First off, they're actually constructed from cable all the way around with rollers on the cable that can move up and down and fit with the tire and ice and snow as needed. The heighth of the rollers is very small so it actually gives you plenty of room between your fender well and the components behind tires and wheels as well. Let's take a look at the latch that connects the ends of the chains together. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on this 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to install part number PWPLC1142. This is a Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains. It's always a good idea to lay out your chains and get familiar with them, and it's also a good idea to practice using them before actually needing them in the ice and snow. We'll point out a few things about the chains first. First off, the chain is a low profile design, so it's good for vehicles with close tolerance between the tire and the components, and the fender well. Now, the links here that actually touch the ice and snow, is a square-link design. Pretty common, but effective. When you install it, you want to double check on the crossbars here of the chain, that this point here is away from your tire. So we flip it over, it's all smooth, and you want that facing towards your tire, and the end of the hook here towards your ice and snow. You want to make sure the catch here for the chain, is on the outside of the tire, and this hook here on the other side will go towards the inside edge of the tire. Let's put the chain on top of the tire. Scoot it across the top, make sure it's even on the sides. For reference on the tire size, we're working with a P225 by 65 by R17. As you put your chain on, you can double check to make sure we've got clearance by putting your hand between the chain and the suspension components to make sure nothings hung up. You can see right here how this part is against the tire, that's what what want. more
